Water Damage in Union, Kentucky
A sump pump failed in this home during heavy rains near Union, Kentucky and caused damage to several areas of the home. The media room, bathroom, bar area, family room and bedroom were affected by flooding. The SERVPRO of Boone County technicians responded quickly to the home for water mitigation services. To begin the water restoration process in this family room area, the technicians detached the wet baseboards and drilled holes in the lower portion of the drywall. These holes allow for the drying of the wall cavities. The technicians removed the wet carpet padding and bagged it for disposal and lifted the carpet for drying. An anti-microbial agent was applied to the flooring. This agent helps to reduce a mold issue from developing following the water damage. The drying equipment was placed in the areas until the flooring and walls were completely dry. Upon completion, all equipment was removed and the area was ready for any necessary structural repairs to be made.
