Heavy Rains Cause Flooded Basement in Burlington, Kentucky
Heavy rains in Burlington, Kentucky caused flooding in the finished basement of this home and SERVPRO of Boone County was called to help after the flood waters had been sitting in the basement for over 72 hours. Due to the extent of the damage, a lot of tear out was necessary before the dry out process could begin. The SERVPRO crews removed the non-salvageable wet carpet and padding, the baseboards, and the lower two feet of the wet drywall. All of the debris was cleaned up and bagged for disposal. In order to deter mold growth, a plant-based, anti-microbial agent was applied to the surfaces. The advanced SERVPRO drying equipment was set up in the areas and monitored until the area was completely dry. The photos show the basement before and after the water crews removed the wet flooring and drywall. The basement is now completely dry and prepped for the structural repairs.
