Thermal Imaging Used to Detect Water Damage at Commercial Property in Newport, Kentucky
The sprinkler system in this commercial property in Newport, Kentucky activated, causing extensive water damage throughout the building. Laminate flooring, carpeted flooring, and drywall walls were all damaged and in need of dry out services. For this water mitigation project, SERVPRO of Boone County used thermal imaging to help assess the damage. Thermal imaging detects temperature changes in an area. And the changes in temperature can indicate where moisture is present. If there are darker areas in the thermal image, this means that moisture may be present. The photos show a regular photo and a thermal image of the affected area in one of the hallways in the building. The darker areas in the thermal image show that moisture is definitely present in the area. The second photo shows the SERVPRO equipment set up and drying the space.
